-Comforting Curves: curved form subconsciously sounds safe, friendly, and welcoming. Femininity will have an impact on form in 2022, conveyed through rounded details ranging from circular structural elements to gentle curves. Radiused corners or curved backs on sofas and flared arms on chairs or bumpers on sectionals. Waterfall corners on desks and consoles will reinforce the trend, as will drum tables and scalloped shapes on accent items from area rugs to ottomans. Comfy, curvilinear, welcoming forms will be paramount, soft to the eye and the hand to create an overall relaxed and comfortable feel within the space.

-Pet-friendly: The pet-focused decor is all the rage this year. Most people consider their pets part of their family. The “Barkitecture” design trend gives pets something comfortable to lounge on that’s still cohesive with your existing decor. It is poised to make a splash in 2022. People want to treat their pets, but in a way that’s not disruptive to their décor. Similar to your luxurious touches, this can be tailored to fit your space, needs, and budget. Incorporate pieces into your home that are inspired by your pet, such as a fun wall organizer that’s perfect for hanging leashes and collars.

NATURE:
-More Houseplants: Wellness in buildings is becoming increasingly important to the developer and the inhabitant. Naturally, because indoor plants have a calming effect and promote clean air, you can expect to see more living walls and hanging plants both in amenity spaces and residences. Plants will not only complement your natural woods and warm browns, but they will also purify the air. Besides, seeing your blooms grow brings a deep sense of fulfillment and joy.

SPACES:
-Work-from-home set-ups: Many open plans will continue to adapt into alternative workspaces with smart shelves, space-saving features, and maximized corners. There is a heightened interest in creating the ideal home office. From a roomy space with everything you need to a fold-away desk in a living room, home offices come in all shapes and sizes. Functionality, practicality, and aesthetics are equally important. Whatever the style, shape, and size, your home office will need a few basics to be a productive space. Colours that calm and focus the mind, like subtle blues, greens, and neutrals are in trend avoiding very bright hues that are energizing as they can lead to restlessness. Keep decoration to a minimum to stay focused.

-Meditation Nook: Transformation of any corner of your home into a serene meditation nook. They’re great for unwinding after a long day at work or as a place to score some alone time before you interact with your partner in the morning. To create a cozy sanctuary in the corner of a room, I recommend integrating comforting yet uplifting décor elements such as soft floor pillows, exciting artwork, a small side table or bench, and a colourful rug. If you can find a corner near a window, even better.

PALETTES:
-Cozy tones: It is more apt to incorporate moody colors into their homes as opposed to stark whites. Use of aubergine, hunter green, black, and warmer alternatives to white such as taupe, beige, and cream. These moody spaces feel a bit more expressive and are certainly cozier.

-Shades of Brown: Chocolate browns, camels and caramels—there has been so much colour and pattern, especially pastels, the last few years and I think people will be ready for a palette cleanser. Neutrals will take a bit of a back seat in 2022 as people start to experiment with colour again, but the palette will stay very close to hues you’d find in nature. We predict paint rollers will be dipped in rosy, terracotta tones, swathing rooms from wall to ceiling for a complete monochromatic moment that envelops you in its coziness. return of earthy browns in 2022—from cognac to burnt umber.

-Black Accents: Here we start to see the real advantage of setting a neutral base. The interior design colour trends of 2022 are going to the extremes with black. Although they come in small doses, black accents are punchy and powerful. It’s a great way to add some edge and depth to more minimalist spaces: Choose light, neutral colours for the main elements of your space, like paint colours and large sofas, and incorporate black accents for contrast. Black accents such as lamps will help to accentuate an area and add interesting depth. Even swapping out for black handles on existing pieces like side tables or tv cabinets will add a pop of contrast to a space.
